So I was able to enter Tigsource competition versus! right now me and my collaber are working on a Action adventure game, to be more exact similar to Zelda, we have a month to complete the game so it’s going to be a challenge, right now I am working on the player sprites who are turning pretty good, ;3 got walking done, just gotta make him attack, hurt and push, so we can continue and do enemies and maps, It will be exciting and fun, hopefully we will have a great game, I will update once we do more on the game! About the other projects, well, I have to postpone my personal plataformer game. The rpg game in other news is going smoothly! we got almost all done! I am just making the maps which are easy already got 1/3 done so not that much missing, in a hour or two I can finish the other 2/3 of the maps , then just completing the enemies, haha, in a week I beleive we will get it near completed I will post some screenshots later on!
the DigDug type game, is having some problems ;( sadly the programmer is busy with real life issues so I told him that we must wait to complete it, but once he is back it will just be matter of hours until we comlpete the game!
Hello world, I am a game designer / artist/<insert super awesome skill here>, my name is Tomas Barrios but I am known around the small internet community as Kren , this is my first post at a blog in my life, I have never tried this stuffs before but I want to keep a record on what I do and plan to do, my goals for this blog since a blog must have a reason to exist, is to post progress on games I am working on and what I intend to do in the future game related or not.In this post I want to talk about tigsource competition versus, it just started and I hope to get into a collab, me doing sprites and someone else either helping me to make a game or me helping him/her complete his/her game, for this I intend to work hard as alwayss ;3! Now lets talk about what this blog is about games, I am going to start mentioning that currently I have never ever completed a game that I like, most just suck or are not worth mentioning, my current projects are a classic digdug style game but of course more awesome-o, a original platformer game that I just started designing and most importantly and the one that is near completed is a RPG game. I will now explain in more detail what are the pros and cons on each game according to me, and why they aren’t completed :
- Digdug-style game: well, this game is awesome in simple words it’s simple yet unique, it is a revamp of the classic game, yet I am not sure if I should consider it digdug, since it was just as inspiration and some elements are there, but you don’t play the same as digdug, it is a more puzzle type game than just shooting hiding from enemies. the Pros of this game is that it is really simple to get it done graphic-wise not sure coding-wise since I am not the best coder, the only disadvantage with this project is that, I haven’t talked with the coder in a while neither he has been active, not sure if I should get another coder and start from 0 or to just wait and get an answer, but for right now I will wait even longer and expect an answer.
- Personal Plataformer: I am trying to make game from 0, using flixel easy to use( or atleast they say) code, the idea/enemies/story is nearly done, I just want to start coding before continue designing the game, it sucks to have the game design completed yet not start to code ;/. the main advantage of this is that I want to self teach me flixel and flash development to be more independent and work faster and of course complete games faster, the only disadvantage with this project is that flixel is hard to start using, I have been trying and trying yet I tend to get stuck really fast, making it impossible for now to progress, hopefully next week or this I will make a square to move on flixel.
- Rpg project: the Rpg project, currently unnamed, is of course a simple rpg, using 4 colors only being made for flash, right now the coder has most of the engine designed and tested, just missing maps and enemies, ;3, the reason this is my favourite project is due to its simplicity, the engine is there, only the sprites and adding events is missing, but everything else is there, luckly we will finish this project in a week or two, depending on how fast we get things done.
Anyways thats all for my first post, I know it might be alot but I want to show you what I am currently working and what I might finish(if things goes ok) in a future. for last note, I hope to add a post later on how the competition went, luckly I will get someone to work with and ofcourse I will post that here ;3!
